Ellicott City Man Dies After Marriottsville Crash: Police

Mark Thompson Ford passed Monday night, Howard County police reported.

A 51-year-old Ellicott City man died Monday from injuries sustained during a crash in Marriottsville earlier this month, according to a report from the Howard County Police Department.

Mark Thompson Ford, of the 4000 block of Columbia Road, had been taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition after the June 12 collision on Marriottsville Road, police said.

Ford died late Monday, according to police.

Police said no citations have been issued in the crash, which occurred at 9:39 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, when Ford was driving a Toyota Tundra north on Marriottsville Road that hit the left side of a loaded tractor-trailer turning from Interstate 70 onto southbound Marriottsville Road.

Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer—Erick Joseph Eimer, 27, from El Paso, TX—was uninjured.
