Ellicott City Crash

A car knocked over a utility pole on Old Annapolis Road.

A car crashed into a utility pole early Friday morning, causing some residents to lose power and damaging a fence on Font Hill Drive, according to a resident.

Police were called to the intersection of Font Hill Drive and Old Annapolis Road at about 2:11 a.m. for a report of destruction of property, according to Police Spokeswoman Elizabeth Schroen.

She said a witness told police that an unknown vehicle hit a BGE pole, knocking it into Old Annapolis Road.

Police searched the area, according to Schroen, but did not find the vehicle. BGE responded to the scene to fix the pole.
