Disorderly Conduct on Main Street: Howard County Crime Roundup

Ellicott City: Disorderly Conduct

A man who ordered a shot of liquor and then left a tip of more than $600 at Phoenix Emporium may face charges of disorderly conduct, destruction of property and resisting arrest after he created a scene Tuesday night about 11:30 p.m. on Main Street.

"He came in, bought a shot, then tipped $616.22,” according to an employee at the bar. Then, witnesses said, he ran into the street.

Police responded after a 23-year-old man was seen on foot “darting in traffic and yelling obscenities” at Main Street near Maryland Avenue. The suspect then ran into Cacao Lane restaurant. He resisted arrest and an officer deployed a TASER.

The suspect was taken to Howard County General Hospital, standard procedure after being struck by a TASER; he is also undergoing a psychological evaluation.

Ellicott City: Vehicle Theft

On July 12, just before 7 a.m., a 2008 Chevrolet Impala with Maryland tags 3AG2177 was reported stolen from a residence on the 3600 block of Joycin Court.

On July 12, just before 10 a.m., a Mazda MX6 with Maryland tags 6EJE11 was reported stolen from a residence on the 8700 block of Town And Country Boulevard.

Elkridge: Vehicle Theft

On July 12, at 4:18 p.m., a white and silver 2006 Suzuki was reported stolen from a residence on the 6800 block of Old Waterloo Road.

Columbia: Break-In Attempt

On July 12, at 10:30 p.m., an unknown number of suspects attempted to enter a residence on the 8600 block of Hayshed Lane by prying open a rear door and window, but failed to gain entry.

Columbia: Vehicle Theft

On July 12, just before 8:30 p.m., a motorcycle was reported stolen from a residence on the 11300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway.

Laurel: Break-In

On July 12, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 10600 block of Gorman Road through an unsecured front sliding glass door, stealing three laptops and two mp3 players.

Laurel: Vehicle Theft

On July 13, at 12:21 a.m., a black 1994 Toyota Camry with Maryland tags 5FVM02 was reported stolen from a residence on the 9400 block of Glen Ridge Drive.
