Crime Roundup: Break-in at Waverly Mansion, Weekend DUIs and More

Patch takes a look back at the weekend in crimes as reported by the Howard County Police Department.

From 6 p.m. Friday until Sunday afternoon, Howard County Police made 10 arrests for driving under the influence, according to the police log, and 24 arrests for driving with no license or one that was suspended.

Between late Friday night  and early Saturday morning, someone entered a home on the 2800 block of Deer Trail through an unlocked back door, according to police. The victim reported two purses stolen.

A resident on the 2800 block of Willow Lane reported coins and a jewelry box were stolen from her home sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Friday. Police say there was no sign of forced entry.

Police say tools, equipment and office supplies were stolen from a trailer on a construction site on the 8000 block of Baltimore National Pike between 5:30 a.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday.

Just before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, suspects forced open a basement door at Waverly Mansion in Marriottsville, according to police. The suspects were not able to get into the mansion and, police say, nothing was stolen.
