Crime-Free in Ellicott City: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Columbia: Robbery

Just after 9 p.m. on July 18, an unknown suspect on a bicycle grabbed a phone from a victim walking in the opposite direction, near the 10300 block of Hickory Ridge Road.

Around 4:30 a.m. on July 19, an unknown suspect was in the laundry room of Verona Apartments, on the 9600 block of Whiteacre Road, without authorization. Police arrested a Columbia man and charged him with fourth-degree burglary and failure to obey police.

Between July 15 and July 18, an unknown number of suspects entered the Wegmans construction site, on the 8800 block of McGaw Road, cutting a lock to a storage center and stealing tools.

Elkridge: Commercial Break-In

After 4 a.m. on July 18, an unknown number of suspects broke a window and entered a doctor’s office on the 8100 block of Lark Brown Road.

Elkridge: Vehicle Theft

At 9:45 a.m. on July 18, a 2009 Suzuki with Maryland tags D42714 was reported stolen from a residence on the 6800 block of Guest Call.

Clarksville: Break-In

At 8:45 a.m. on July 18, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 6400 block of Western Star Run, stealing cash in plain view.

Laurel: Break-In

Between 2 p.m. on July 18 and 2:10 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 9500 block of Canterbury Riding, stealing a television and a video game system.

Laurel: Break-In

Between 6 p.m. on July 18 and 2 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 9600 block of Canterbury Riding, stealing a television. Police located a suspect nearby with the television. Police arrested the suspect and charged him with first-, second-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, two counts of theft and failure to obey police.

Laurel: Break-In Attempt

Between July 12 and July 18, an unknown number of suspects attempted to enter a residence on the 9600 block of Baltimore Avenue by prying open a screen, but failed to gain entry.

Fulton: Break-In

Around 3:30 p.m. on July 18, a break-in was reported at a residence on the 11200 block of Scaggsville Road.

Savage: Vehicle Theft

Just before 9 p.m. in July 18, a silver 2005 Nissan Altima with Maryland tags 8AB8277 was reported stolen from a residence on the 9000 block of Washington Boulevard.  

Highland: Construction Site Break-In

Between July 15 and July 18, an unknown number of suspects broke a window of a site on the 12800 block of Lime Kiln Road, stealing speakers, wiring and other items.
