Construction Worker Electrocuted in Ellicott City

The worker, a Hyattsville man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

UPDATE: This story was updated at 11:40 a.m. to include the name of the man who was killed after police released it this morning.

Emeterio Badillo Soto, 29, of Hyattsville, was killed at a construction site in Ellicott City on Tuesday when the metal scaffolding he was carrying touched a live wire and electorcuted him, according to police spokesperson Mary Phelan.

Police got the call at about 3:30 p.m that Sotoe had been electrocuted on the 9200 block of Furrow Avenue, according to Phelan.

When the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services responded, personnel provided CPR to Soto, but he died at the scene, Phelan said.

According to Phelan, there is no indication of foul play but an investigation was continuing.
