Burglaries in Ellicott City, Columbia, Elkridge, Savage: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Ellicott City: Burglary

Food items were stolen from the 40 West Citgo on the 8300 block of Baltimore National Pike. The suspect or suspects got inside after breaking a glass front door. The burglary was reported at 2:26 a.m. on Friday, May 27.

A video game system and a sound system were stolen from a residence on the 8600 block of Cobblefield Drive. There were no sign of forced entry. The burglary happened sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 26.

A laptop, a television and a video game system were stolen from a residence on the 9400 block of Good Lion Road. The suspect or suspects got inside through a garage door. The burglary happened between 4 a.m. and 4:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 26.

Columia: Burglary

Coins were stolen from a home on the 5600 block of Oakland Mills Road. The suspect or suspects got inside after breaking a window. The burglary happened sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25.

Columbia: Burglary

A bicycle was stolen from an enclosed porch at a residence on the 9400 block of Merryrest Road. He suspect or suspects got to the porch by prying open a door. There was no entry made to the main portion of the home. The bicycle was stolen sometime between 6 p.m. on Friday, May 20, and 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 22. 

Columbia: Break-in attempt

No entry was made during an attempted break-in at a residence on the 9700 block of Basket Ring Road. The suspect or suspects tried to get inside by tampering with two windows and the front door. The attempted break-in happened sometime between 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, and 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 26.

Columbia: Break-in attempt

No entry was made during an attempted break-in at a residence on the 5800 block of Morningbird Lane. The suspect or suspects tried to get inside by prying the front door. The attempted break-in was reported at 8:14 a.m. on Thursday, May 26.

Columbia: Break-in attempt (with arrest)

A Columbia teen was arrested after allegedly being seen tampering with a patio door at a residence on the 5400 block of Columbia Road. A witness spotted the suspect, who then fled. Arriving officers then found and arrested Daniel Alexander McFadden, 19, of 5461 Columbia Road. He has been charged with one count each of first- and second-degree attempted burglary, and possession of burglar’s tools.

Savage: Burglary

Tools were stolen from a maintenance area at Savage Mill on the 8600 block of Foundry Street. There were no signs of forced entry. The burglary was reported at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25.

Elkridge: Burglary

Jewelry was stolen from a residence on the 5800 block of Woodvalley Road. The suspect or suspects got inside through a sliding glass door. There were no signs of forced entry. The burglary happened sometime between 1 p.m. on Friday, March 20, and 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 22.

Jessup: Break-in attempt

A suspect or suspects tried to get into Capitol Express on the 8100 block of Stayton Drive by cutting a fence. The attempted break-in happened sometime between Tuesday, May 24, and Wednesday, May 25.

Columbia, Elkridge: Vehicle thefts

Columbia: A gray 1995 Honda Civic with Maryland license plate 6EGG77 was stolen from the 12200 block of Little Patuxent Parkway. It was stolen sometime between 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, and 6:38 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25.

Elkridge: A U-Haul cargo van with Arizona license plate AE16246 was stolen from the 5800 block of Washington Boulevard. It was reported stolen at 3:18 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25.
