Burglaries Around Columbia: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Columbia: Robbery

Money was stolen from a safe following a robbery early Monday morning at the Frisco Tap House & Brewery on the 6600 block of Dobbin Road. A suspect walked inside the restaurant, forced an employee into the office and left with money from a safe, according to police. The robbery was reported at about 2:25 a.m. 

The suspect is described as a black male, 5-foot-10, 200 pounds, with an athletic build and wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, black sneakers and a blue bandana over his face.

Columbia: Burglary

Cash was stolen from a residence on the 6100 block of Llanfair Drive. The suspect or suspects got inside after breaking a rear sliding glass door. The burglary was reported at 10:17 p.m. on Friday, June 10.

Columbia: Burglary

A bicycle was stolen from an open garage at a home on the 7100 block of Brandywine Way. The burglary happened sometime between 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, and 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7. 

Columbia: Burglary

Jewelry was stolen from a home on the 9800 block of Hickory Limb. The suspect or suspects got inside after forcing open a garage door. The burglary happened sometime between 12 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 12.

Columbia: Break-in (with arrest)

A Columbia man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly breaking into a residence on the 5400 block of El Camino.

Nicholas Reed Forrest, 24, of 5495 Cedar Lane, has been charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property, according to police.

Police say Forrest, a “known suspect,” got inside the residence through a bedroom window, confronted the victim and assaulted her. He then left but was found elsewhere by arriving officers, police said.

Elkridge: Burglary

Liquor and wine were stolen from the Furnace Inn on the 5700 block of Furnace Avenue. The suspects, described as males wearing dark blue hoodies and jeans, got inside after forcing open a side door. The burglary was reported at 2:21 a.m. on Thursday, June 9.

Laurel: Break-in

Police were called to the old Health Department building on the 9500 block of Durness Lane for reports of disorderly conduct and destruction of property. The break-in was reported at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 9. 

Woodbine: Burglary

Jewelry, cash and coins were stolen from a home on the 15600 block of Old Frederick Road. The residence was also ransacked. The suspect or suspects got inside through a bedroom window. The burglary happened sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 12.

Laurel: Vehicle theft

A green Ford F350 with Maryland license plate 81P367 was stolen from the 9500 block of Cissell Avenue. It was stolen between 6:30 a.m. and 8:31 a.m. on Thursday, June 9.
