Break-ins and Vehicle Thefts: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Columbia: Break-In

Shortly before 6 p.m. on Sept. 21, an unknown number of suspects entered the garage of a residence on the 10300 block of Wild Like Terrace and stole a bicycle.

Shortly after 4 a.m. on Sept. 22, officers discovered stolen items from a residence on the 5700 block of Sweetwind Place during a traffic stop at MD 108 and US 29. Officers said the suspects had also attempted, but failed, to steal a vehicle at the residence. Police arrested one Columbia man and one Essex man, and charged them both with attempted vehicle theft, theft, malicious destruction of property, possession of burglar's tools and rogue and vagabond.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Sept. 21, a silver 1996 Honda Civic was stolen from a residence on the 10400 block of Swift Stream Place.

Laurel: Break-In

Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sept. 21, an unknown number of suspects entered the open garage of a residence on the 9900 block of Veiled Dawn and stole a ladder.

Laurel: Break-In

Between 3:15 p.m. and 3:32 p.m. on Sept. 21, an unknown number of suspects kicked in the front door of a residence on the 9100 block of Bourbon Street. Police said nothing was reported stolen.

Laurel: Vehicle Theft

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 21, a trailer with MD tags 34056TL was stolen from a residence on the 10000 block of Washington Boulevard.
