Assault Charges After Man Allegedly Stabs 'LongTime Friend'

A Halethorpe man faces charges after an incident outside of the Brunswick Zone in Ellicott City.

 

A Halethorpe man was indicted on several charges after he allegedly stabbed a “longtime friend” outside of an Ellicott City bowling alley, according to court documents. 

Andre Lamont Mitchell, 29, and 31-year-old Troy Eldrige Hardy were at the bowling alley on the Baltimore National Pike on May 12 when, Hardy told police in a statement, the two got into an argument.

Hardy, who referred to Mitchell as a "longtime friend," said that the two then went outside and the argument turned physical when Mitchell pulled out a knife, police said.

According to the charging document, Hardy said he tried to get away from Mitchell “in fear for his life,” but that he was stabbed several times. He was stabbed twice in the thigh and once in the chest, according police.

Hardy told police that after the stabbing, Mitchell went back into the bowling alley “to have a good time.” Hardy was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

Mitchell was indicted on Wednesday, and faces first- and second-degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.
