Another School Break-in: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Ellicott City: Robbery

Shortly before 3 a.m. on August 14, uninvited guests began to assault other guests of a residence on the 3600 block of Burgess Estates Drive, and were asked to leave. The suspects stole a laptop and camera from one victim.

Between August 11 and August 13, an unknown number of suspects kicked in the rear door of a residence on the 4600 block of South Leisure Court, ransacking the residence and stealing two televisions, a video game system and games.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on August 13, a known suspect forced entry through a rear door of a residence on the 6300 block of Loudon Avenue. Police arrested a Laurel man and charged him with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary and second-degree assault.

Elkridge: School Break-In

Between August 9 and August 12, an unknown number of suspects forced entry into a trailer at Elkridge Elementary School, on the 7000 block of Montgomery Road, and stole plywood.

Columbia: Commercial Break-In

Between 9:30 p.m. on August 12 and 7:25 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects broke a front glass door of Synergy Fit For Women, on the 8800 block of Columbia 100 Parkway, ransacking the business and stealing cash and checks.

Columbia: Robbery

At 12:45 a.m. on August 14, an unknown group of suspects approached a victim near the intersection of Stonebrook Lane and Guilford Road, asking for cash. After the victim complied, the suspects demanded more and the victim refused. The suspects assaulted the victim, stole cash and fled toward Hammond High School.

Columbia: Break-In

Between August 11 and August 13, an unknown number of suspects broke a pane in a door and entered a residence on the 5400 block of Wooded Way, stealing a gun, jewelry and cash.

Columbia: Vehicle Theft

Between 11 p.m. on August 11 and 7:45 a.m. the following day, a 2004 Nissan Sentra with Maryland tags 3AD6581 was stolen from a residence on the 7100 block of Rovers View Court.

Jessup: Break-In

Between August 5 and August 9, an unknown number of suspects forced open a rear door of a residence on the 7500 block of Montevideo Road, stealing a television, clothing, jewelry and shoes.

Laurel: Break-In Attempt

Between 8 a.m. and 7:20 p.m. on August 11, an unknown number of suspects attempted to enter a residence on the 9000 block of Moonshine Hollow by tampering with a door, but failed to gain entry.

Laurel: Break-In

Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on August 9, a unknown number of suspects entered a garage of a residence on the 10600 block of Persimmon Court, stealing a guitar and case.

Laurel: Vehicle Theft Attempt

Shortly before 11 a.m. on August 12, a vehicle theft attempt was reported on the 8400 block of Flowering Cherry Lane.

Laurel: Vehicle Theft

At 9:30 a.m. on July 26 a dirt bike was reported stolen from a residence on the 9500 block of North Laurel Road. This incident is listed “late reported.”
