Ellicott City Woman, Teen Charged: Crime Roundup

Ellicott City

Residential Burglary - Old Frederick Road

A 42-year-old woman and a 16-year-old woman were arrested after police found scrap metal suspected to have been taken from a residence near the 8400 block of Old Frederick Road on Jan. 31 around 2:30 p.m. The 42-year-old Ellicott City woman was charged with fourth-degree burglary, trespassing and theft.

Residential Burglary Attempt - Lotus Drive

A garage door opener stolen from a vehicle earlier in the day on Jan. 31 was used to open a garage near the 4100 block of Lotus Drive by an unknown person. The person then used the garage door opener to gain access to the residence, but the person was possibly scared off by a large dog as nothing was reported stolen.

Residential Burglary - Parsley Drive

Two bedrooms were ransacked and jewelry, an E-reader and two cameras were taken from a residence near the 9300 block of Parsley Drive sometime on Jan. 30. Police found a rear deck door pried open to gain entry.

Residential Burglary - Nanmark Court

Jewlery, a credit card and a lockbox containing personal documents were taken from a residence near the 3400 block of Nanmark Court sometime on Jan. 30. A front winow was broken to gain entry. 

 

Columbia

Armed Robbery - Windstream Drive

A woman was robbed by a man who approached her parked vehicle and displayed a gun near the 10000 bock of Windstream Drive on Jan. 31 around 9 p.m. The woman gave the man money, he demanded more, and when she told him she had no more, he fled. Police described the suspect as a thin black male, abut 5-foot-6 inches, wearing a gray or white hooded sweatshirt and carrying a small pistol.

Commercial Burglary Attempt - Eden Brook Apartments

A witness saw a person wearing dark clothing exit the fitness center at Dominion/ Eden Brook Apartments near the 7300 block of Eden Brook Drive, but nothing appeared to be missing when police responded around 9 p.m. on Jan. 30.

Construction Site Burglary - Benjamin Franklin Drive

Someone popped the lock off a storage container at a construction site near the 8700 block of Benjamin Franklin Drive overnight on Jan. 28. Copper wire was reported stolen.

 

Elkridge 

Residential Burglary - Rockledge Court

A flat screen television and a laptop were reported stolen from a residence near the 6400 block of Rockledge Court on Jan. 31 after someone gained entry by unknown means.

 

Laurel

Commercial Burglary - Excell Auto Center

Someone used a spare engine part to break a slide window at Excell Auto Center near the 9500 block of Washington Boulevard and then once inside stole a computer and cash from the register around 2 a.m. on Jan. 31.

 

Jessup

Residential Burglary - Mission Road

Someone forced open a locked bedroom window and took two iPads, jewelry, cash, a Ray Lewis poster and medicine from the master bedrooma and kitchen area sometime during the day on Jan. 29.

 

County-wide Vehicle Thefts

A 2007 Suzuki motorcycle was reported stolen near the 11400 block of Little Patuxent Parkway in the early morning hours of Jan. 29.

A 2010 red Toyota Corolla was reported stolen near the 6300 block of Rowanberry Drive on Jan. 29.

A 2005 green Kawaski ATV was reported stolen near the 4100 block of Brittany Lane.

A 2003 blue Chrysler PT Cruiser was reported stolen near the 7200 block of Eden Brook Drive around 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 30.

Police issued a revised statement, indicating the woman charged with burglary, trespassing and theft in Ellicott City was 42 years old.
