Thanks Much

It's Thanksgiving, and here at Patch, we have a lot to be grateful for. 

When I think back to this time last year, I was just thankful to be able to find my way to the . As time has passed, I've gotten to know Ellicott City better, but not without help.

What would I do without Main Street merchants, who are constantly , and welcoming me into their businesses? Special thanks to T and Zan who showed me around the lovely Obladi Hotel last week.

So thankful for my neighbors at the . Everything there runs like clockwork -- except for me. It's comforting to know I'll see familiar faces every morning that I make it in for a cup of coffee. And those breakfast sandwiches. Mmmm. 

Real-world thanks for my virtual friends. It may sound goofy, but everyone on Facebook and Twitter, seriously, THANK YOU. It is always a real pick-me-up to hear that "ding" on my phone. @kimberlytpalmer, thanks for the turtle pics! @macsmom, thanks for stopping by the George Howard Building just to say hi. @LaCasaDeSweets, thanks for making me laugh with that trucker comment, and thanks for the reviews. Everyone who comments, submits a photo or just says hi, thanks!

I'm also thankful for my flesh-and-blood friends across the state and the country who still keep in touch even though I spend most of my days (and, more importantly) nights here in Ellicott City. From Boston to Chicago to Arizona, thanks for coming all the way out here to hang. You guys are the best.

Of course, thanks to my coworkers here at Patch (that includes you, Nikki). When I need a reprieve, someone is always quick to step up and help out. A special thank you to Elkridge Patch Editor Elizabeth Janney, who always has advice, a contact, or just an ear.
