Visitation, Funeral Services Set for Cooksville Man Killed in I-70 Crash

Mark Eric Frazier II died July 9 in a crash in Howard County.

A funeral service will be held Monday to remember the Howard County man who died in a crash on Interstate 70 this week.

Mark E. Frazier II, 22, of Cooksville, passed on Wednesday, July 9.

At approximately 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Frazier ran into a truck that had broken down on the shoulder of I-70 eastbound near MD Route 32, according to WJLA.

After Frazier's Chevy Impala rear-ended the truck—which was jutting out from the fast shoulder into the left lane—debris and vehicles covered the road, the Howard County Times reported. As a result, I-70 was closed for three hours, according to WJLA.

Howard County first responders said Frazier was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was reportedly uninjured, and no charges were immediately filed.

Visitation for Mark E. Frazier II will be from noon to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, at Haight Funeral Home, 6416 Sykesville Road, in Sykesville.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michael's Road, in Mount Airy.

Donations may go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to www.stjude.org, according to Frazier's obituary.
