Meet Hank the Tank

Hank is a gorgeous, 55-pound American Staffordshire Terrier who is lovable, playful, and well-trained too. He's a rare find that will fit right in to your family and make someone a great companion.

Hey there! My name is Hank, and I’m a proud American Staffordshire Terrier. I’m a little over a year old, weigh about 55 pounds, and I’m such a sweet, handsome boy - and REALLY smart too.

Mutts Matter rescued me from a shelter in Montgomery County after I was picked up as a stray.  I couldn’t have been a stray for too long though, because I am a very well-trained dog. My last human must have spent some time working with me on commands and teaching me house manners. I’m already potty-trained, crate-trained, love to go on car rides, and I know how to sit, lay down, and will stay when you tell me to. I also know to stay off the furniture unless I’ve been invited, and I let my human walk through the door first while I patiently wait... All these smarts and I’m still just a young pup!

I love people, am great with kids, and very social. I’m great with other dogs too, especially the ladies. Mutts Matter thinks I would do well in a home with another medium or large dog, or as an only dog... I’m pretty versatile, but NO cats please.

My foster mom says I’m a goofy pup, and I make her laugh when I jump around and do my kung fu moves, or make silly noises and sing to her. She says that I’m one of the best-behaved dogs she has ever fostered, and she’s fostered a lot. I guess I’m a bit of a show off, but I like to impress. I can be very energetic at times and love to run and play fetch, but when I get my proper daily exercise I can chill out like a couch potato.

I walk well on a leash, but I’m very strong and stout, so an owner with some big dog experience would be the best fit for me. I will need daily exercise and play to remain the great dog that I am. Fortunately, exercise and play are good for humans too – it’s a win-win.

I’m a favorite with the Mutts Matter team not only because I'm cute, but they think I’m super sweet too. I’m a well-adjusted pup, and will make an excellent addition to your family.
