Hello Again From LJ

LJ is an adorable, smart Dachshund-mix who is still looking for a family to call her own. She's a great companion dog and is always up for a new adventure.

Hey, you guys! I’m checking back in to re-introduce myself. I’m the new-and-improved Lady Jane, but my friends all call me LJ. I'm a five-and-a-half-year-old, 18-pound Dachshund-mix with beautiful brown eyes, and I’m the picture of cuteness. Have you seen my photos? Come on.

It’s hard to believe I’m still on the market, but the last few months in my foster “retreat” has been time well spent. I’ve settled into a groove with my routine and have thrived in a stable environment. I have become quite the social pup, and actually go to the office with my foster mom on a regular basis. I’m friendly with all her co-workers, know my manners, and am content to just hang out and be around people.

I truly am a people dog and will make some lucky human the most loyal companion. I follow my foster mom around everywhere and I think she likes it... She says I'm a great combo of playful and couch potato. I snuggle up with her on the couch like a lap dog and sneak under the covers with her at night, but I'm always up for a long walk or car ride, and love to play fetch and chew on my squeaky toys.

My foster mom has done a great job working with me to get me ready for my new family. I’m already potty-trained, walk well on a leash, and I’m great in the car. She has worked with me on socialization and exposed me to new and different situations. We go to the dog park, to the pet store to pick out new treats, and we meet and greet our neighbors on multiple walks every day. You don’t stay this pretty without doing the cardio. I also know my basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” and I get really excited when she says it’s time to go out. To be totally honest, I don’t always listen to everything she says, but I’m learning.

A mellow home environment with a good amount of “people time” is what I really need. I don't like to be left alone for hours, so it would be ideal if you could work from home sometimes or have a flexible enough schedule to make sure you’re with me more often tan not. I’d appreciate being the only dog in your life, but I could live with having another small dog around – as long as they’re laid back and know how to be chill. Older kids are fine, but younger kids make me a little nervous. The problem is I'm so cute and small that young kids think I’m a toy, then they try to pick me up and carry me around, and I do not like that at all.
