Blog Post: Fun Fall Finds

There are great fall-like activities right in our backyard.

I have no problem admitting that I love summer! I am always sad when Labor Day rolls around. It means no more pool or beach and the warm temperatures are slowing slipping out of reach. So this last week or two, I have been very appreciative of the summer-like temperatures even though we are officially in fall.

I also like the frequent thunderstorms we have been experiencing. I love to sit outside and watch the storms roll in and see the sky lighting up. And last Friday, I was grateful that I had the opportunity to experience the most incredible bright rainbow that stretched from one side of Rt. 40 to the other.

While I bid farewell to summer, I can't help but notice that some great fall-like activities exist right in our backyard. You can walk down Main Street on the weekends taking in the fall, crisp air and enjoying all the nooks and crannies this historical place has to offer. Don't forget the ghost tours on Friday and Saturday nights. It is the perfect activity to get you in the Halloween spirit.

There is Larriland Farm, where picking your own fruits and vegetables is always plentiful. And lets not forgot all the fall goodies like apple cider and pumpkins.

There is the Robinson Nature Center that I never even knew it existed, even though it is right in my work background. They have a list of fun activities offered during the next few months. I'll have to check this place out.

Last but certainly not least is the Choose Civility Symposium 2011 next week. If you are a frequent reader of my blog, you know that I have written about this topic before. I hope that my work schedule allows me to attend the symposium because I really want to see what what this civility is all about!
