Another Standardized Test
In the spring, Washington DC students will be tested on sex education.
Are there any subjects left for students to be standardized tested in? Well, Washington, DC public schools have found a subject -- sex. Yes, you read correctly. Next spring, students in fifth, eighth and tenth grade will be tested on human sexuality, contraception and drug use.
A Washington Post article states that the District's obesity, STDs and teen pregnancy rates are some of the highest in the country. The 50-question test will also include questions on nutrition and mental health.
The District's school system says the test will help determine what students really know about these subjects and maybe painter a clearer picture of why students behave the way they do when it comes to nutrition and sexual behaviors.

I am not as confident that the results will reveal this. First, I wonder how many students are going to take this test seriously. Are students really going to be honest about what they do and do not know about sex education? I also don't think a high obesity rate, teen pregnancies and STDs running rampant throughout the adolescent community is just due to a lack of knowledge.
