Gift Idea: Get A Wine Bottle Dipped in Chocolate in Ellicott City

A Main Street Ellicott City chocolate shop will do it all for you.

Do you know someone who loves chocolate and wine? Of course you do.

Sweet Cascades, the chocolate shop on Main Street in Ellicott City known for dipping all kinds of odd items in their homemade chocolate (bacon, chips, jalapeños), also dips wine bottles.

"It looks like a liquor store in the back," said Sweet Cascades owner Sue Wheary about the bottles they've received. She said the store has already dipped dozens of cases of wine for the holiday season.

In order to have a bottle dipped, you must bring it into the store at 8167 Main Street. They can't sell wine at the store because they don't have a liquor license.

Then, they'll dip the bottle at a price of $24.95 and gift-wrap it.

Now, obviously, you don't eat the glass. What you do, according to Wheary, is break the chocolate shell off the outside as you sip on your wine. You can choose from dark, white or milk chocolate, said Wheary.

They'll also dip bottles of hard alcohol or beer.
