In October, over 100 reference photos were taken. In November, a rough concept was envisioned, and a storyboard made. The first 2 weekends of December were spent doing the the initial 24 pencil drawings at Wiley’s temporary gallery in Shoemaker Country in Historic Ellicott City. The last 2 weeks were spent in the same gallery doing the watercolor studies.
During January and February, the 24 large acrylic paintings were mostly completed during his “Winter Studio” show at Perspectives Art Gallery, also in Ellicott City. In April, some work was done on the paintings on site, on the Conservancy grounds. Final details were added in the home studio.
