Historic Ellicott City Rain Barrel Demo And Giveaway

Interested in getting your own rain barrel?

Learn how to install a rain barrel!

The Ellicott City Clean, Green and Safe Committee will be giving away whiskey rain barrels to Historic District and West End residents and businesses on 5/3. The rain barrels are FREE (while they last)

The barrels provide an opportunity for water conservation through water use on gardens and landscaping as well as demonstrate site-scale stormwater management. By having the barrels up at various places around town, we hope to provide a visual demonstration and unified message to residents and visitors alike for sustainable efforts in Ellicott City.

The FREE barrels are whiskey barrels that have been retrofit for this use to match Ellicott City’s historic charm.  Check out our time lapse video of a barrel install:

We will have a public demonstration install at the Wine Bin at 10 AM that morning. If you’d like to reserve a barrel, please contact us at green@visitellicottcity.com

Parking:  Please park in Lot F or nearby.  Wine Bin parking lot is for customers only.
