Tony Award-winning musical: “RENT” October
25 – November 4

Prize and Tony Award-winning musical/rock opera “Rent,” October 25 to November 4, 2012, in Wilde Lake

Susan G. Kramer directs – with Stacey Antoine as musical director and Brandon Sinclair as choreographer – the musical that changed Broadway forever. Set in the Lower East Village of New York City, “Rent” has become a pop cultural phenomenon featuring one of the most memorable rock scores in American musical theatre history. Based on Puccini's La Bohème, “Rent” follows a year in the life of a group of friends; bohemian artists struggling to survive and create in New York’s Alphabet City, under the shadow of

Larson’s ahead-of-its-time story bravely takes on an age-old narrative; the search for love, acceptance,
freedom and identity, while faced with fear, illness, betrayal and loss.

Larson spent the last years of his life giving a new voice to these familiar dreams and conflicts, which resulted in this life-changing, groundbreaking musical, and continues to resonate today… and will tomorrow. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, “Rent” is theatre at its best – exuberant, passionate, and joyous.
