Join the members of AAUW Howard County to prepare for the sweetest of holidays, Valentine's Day.  Culinary historian Pat Reber will discuss the history of chocolate.  From the pod of the unusual cacao tree to its use as a spicy drink for the wealthy, this special treat has played a role in both royal and religious events.

Ms. Reber will also discuss the specialized implements used in creating and cooking chocolate.  She will offer samples of recipes from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Pat Reber has demonstrated and taught bake oven and hearth oven cooking in various museums for the past 20 years.

This meeting is free and open to the public.  Refreshments served.
