35th Annual Midnight Madness and Santa Saturday in Historic Ellicott City
           
Ellicott City, MD – The Historic District will celebrate its 35th annual Midnight Madness Friday, December 7 followed by Santa Saturday, December 8, rain, snow, or shine. From 4pm. – 8pm. Friday, kids can stop by and get their photo taken with Santa at his workshop in the Thomas Isaac Log Cabin on upper Main Street. After 6 pm., grown-ups can enjoy the festive atmosphere with live music, refreshments and special promotions for wining, dining and shopping until midnight. This year’s musical performers include the Mt. Hebron High School Madrigals, The Pride of Baltimore Chorus, The Heart of Maryland Barbershop Chorus, and The Churches of Ellicott City Choir. Rumor has it that a Victorian Christmas tree will be wandering around town as well as Frosty the Snowman.  Who knows? There might even be an Elvis sighting. A shuttle service will run from the Howard County Government Complex parking lot, the Howard County Court House lot and Main Street. Please see  photos for the map.

The following day, Saturday, Santa arrives on his fire truck with a parade starting at 12 noon, making his way down Main Street and ending up at the Fire House Museum where kids can visit him until 5pm.  More family entertainment for Saturday includes local high school madrigals, jazz, and chorale groups,  The area historic sites will be open until 4 p.m.

Linwood may close the Manor House until it is able to undergo renovations of the building.Read More Meanwhile, most operations will move to the new school.
