Call for Community Award Submissions

Just an update on our Annual Awards Luncheon, which will be happening the first weekend in November (stay tuned for a Save the Date shortly).  Aside from being our main fundraiser for the year, our Annual Awards Luncheon is our opportunity to come together in recognition and celebration of work being done in the community that aligns with CHAI's mission.

We need your help in determining this year's honorees and we'd love to hear your submissions.  Take a look at the nomination guidelines below and get your submission in before September 15th!

CHAI Be The Change Award

This award is to recognize the work that individuals or groups do to promote education and awareness about mental health in the South Asian community in the Baltimore/ Washington area.

Criteria for Nominees:

  • address, promote, educate about mental health issues with the South Asian community
  • provide  support to the South Asian community in the Baltimore/Washington area
  • CHAI welcomes nominations from diverse backgrounds, professional disciplines and volunteer affiliations who meet the first two criteria for nominees

The Radha Pathak Humanitarian Award

This award is to honor the memory of Dr. Pathak's kind and benevolent spirit in helping other.  Dr. Pathak was a dedicated physician and caring soul who interacted with patients, family, and friends with compassion and generosity.

Criteria for Nominees:

  • engaged in promoting  greater understanding among communities
  • exemplifies both personal and professional practices that value generosity, compassion, and helping others
  • inspires others towards a greater good of humanity
  • self - identifies as being South Asian or of South Asian descent
  • lives in the Baltimore/ Washington metropolitan area
