Wildfire Threat for Howard County, Much of Maryland

Low humidity and breezy conditions Tuesday mean the threat of wildfires is enhanced, according the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has reported an "enhanced threat" for wildfires in Howard County and much of Maryland through Tuesday evening.

The threat also extends through much of the Baltimore and D.C. region.

According to NWS, humidity will dip down to near 30 percent Tuesday, while winds will pick up, gusting between 20 and 25 mph.

The breezy, dry conditions are expected to persist to the middle of the week, according to NWS; humidity is forecast to rise by Friday, when temperatures are expected to reach the high 90s.
