Week Ahead in Weather: Rain? Maybe

Temperatures will cool down some this week, but we're not necessarily out of the woods as far as severe weather goes.

(Update 6 a.m.) It did, of course, rain overnight.

On the day of the that brought widespread power outages across the state, the National Weather Service had forecast just a 20 percent chance of rain. Yesterday, there was a 50 percent chance but, according to NWS, there was no rain in the area. 

(Though at the time of publication, 10 p.m. Sunday, “The threat of further severe weather is slim but not zero,” according to NWS, so that could change.)

With that in mind, there’s a chance of rain today tomorrow and Wednesday, but rain or not, temperatures should be “cooler,” dropping to the mid-80s. 

On Monday, there is a 30 percent chance of rain. Skies should be mostly cloudy and the temperature will peak in the low 80s and drop to the high 60s overnight.

Tuesday’s chance of rain is just 20 percent. Expect more cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-to-high 80s. At night, temperatures will drop to the high 60s.

Wednesday also brings a 30 percent chance of rain with cloudy skies. Temperatures should be in the mid-8-s during the day and drop to the mid-60s at night.

There’s no rain in Thursday’s forecast, just cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-80s during the day and high 60s at night. 

Friday brings back the threat of storms with a 30 percent chance of rain. Skies should be cloudy and temperatures will be in the low-to-mid 80s. Friday night there’s a 40 percent chance of rain and temperatures should drop to the high 60s.
