Things to Know about Ellicott City Today: July 20

Head into the day a little more informed.

The thermometer may not read 100 degrees (unless you have one of those fancy, heat-index ones) but that's what it's supposed to feel like today, according to the National Weather Service. The temperature should hit about 94 degrees, but with the heat index, it will feel more like 100. Skies will be mostly sunny, with clouds gathering in the evening when temperatures drop to the mid-70s.

Too hot to dig around in the garden? Well the farmers market is open in Ellicott City today at at  from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Beans, beets, blackberries and more are in season. For a full list, check the Economic Development Authority's harvest calendar

Once the sun goes down, you can enjoy the outdoors with the kids at where Rocknoceros will be performing at tonight's free Sunset Serenades Summer Concert series. The kids band starts at 8:30 p.m. There will be food sold on-site and you can rent paddleboats and canoes (don't forget the bug spray). Check the Department of Recreation and Parks online for more info. A $3 parking donation is requested.

The Zoning Board is meeting for a worksession at 7 p.m. tonight in the . On the agenda is a reclassification of 12165 Clarksville Pike in Clarksville from residential to business.
