The Search is On: Ellicott City Today

Head into the day a little more informed.

Expect rain most of the day today, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures should hit about 58 degrees during the day and drop to the low 40s tonight. 

The Howard County Board of Education is meeting tonight at 7 at the to discuss the search for a new Superintendent. Current Superintendent , due to several health problems. 

If you see an unusual number of children on the sidewalk this morning, near Hollifield Station Elementary School, don't worry, the bus didn't break down. The school is inaugurating Earth Friendly Wednesdays. Keep an eye out for students and teachers near the school beginning at 8:10 a.m. Students are also encouraged to bring a waste-free lunch. 

Looking for something different to do during your lunch hour or after work? The Howard County Arts Council is featuring , the biennial, multi-media juried Art HoCo 2011, featuring 46 works by 18 local artists and Modern Mythologies, oil paintings by Virginia artist Tracey Clarke and life-sized, figurative sculptures by Maryland's Sarah Wegner. Exhibits are free at the  from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. weekdays; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturdays and 12 - 4 p.m. Sundays.

Linwood may close the Manor House until it is able to undergo renovations of the building.Read More Meanwhile, most operations will move to the new school.
