Shakespeare, Boot Camp in the Park: Howard County this Weekend

Looking for something exciting to do this weekend? Check out some of the fun things going on around town.

Where:  Patapsco Female Institute Historical Park, 3691 Sarah's Lane, Ellicott City 

When:  Oct. 5-Oct. 28.  Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 6 p.m.

Description:  The Chesapeake Shakespeare Company presents Richard III.  Play is presented in the haunted ruins of Patapsco Female Institute Historic Park. The audience then follows the actors around the grounds as the plot progresses.

Where:  Hollifield Station Elementary School, 8701 Stonehouse Drive, Ellicott City

When:  Friday Oct. 12, doors open at 6 p.m., game begins at 7 p.m.

Description:  Hollifield Station Elementary School holds a Longaberger Basket Bingo. Event features raffles, food and 20 games of Bingo.

  • Free "Boot Camp in the Park"

Where:  Centennial Park (North Area), 9801 Old Annapolis Road, Ellicott City

When: Saturday Oct. 13, 7:50 a.m.

Description:  Free Boot Camp Fitness class.  All are welcome.

Where: Sharp's at Waterford Farm, 4003 Jennings Chapel Road, Brookeville

When:   Friday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m., Saturday Oct. 13 and Sunday Oct. 14, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Description:  Sharp’s at Waterford Farm celebratesn the fall season with hayrides, pumpkin picking, corn maze, scarecrow making, local food and drink and more.

Where:  Terrapin Adventures, 8600 Foundry St., Savage

When: Sunday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m.

Description:  12-mile ride along the Little Patuxent River, two-mile ride around Lake Elkhorn and then wine, cheese and bread provided at the lakeside.

Pricing: $56.95 plus tax

 

  • 10th Annual Premier Beer and Wine Tasting Extravaganza

Where:  5000 Signal Bell Ln, Clarksville

When: Friday Oct. 12, 7 p.m.

Description:  The Colleen and Erin Marlatt Scholarship Fund hosts the 10th Annual Premier Beer and Wine Tasting Extravaganza.  Guests will be able to taste a wide variety of wines and micro brews.  Event includes live music, food and vendors.

Pricing:  $35

 

  • Savage Community Plant Sale

Where:  9035 Baltimore St, Savage

When: Saturday Oct. 13, 8 a.m.

Description:  The Savage Community Association hosts a fall plant sale.  Plants for sale include pansies, ornamental cabbage and kale, mums, and perennials.  Proceeds from the sale will be donated to Baldwin Hall to help with ongoing renovations.
