No Serious Injuries After Police-Involved Collision

One officer had minor injuries after a collision in Ellicott City.

A Howard County police officer received minor injuries today after a collision in Ellicott City, according to police. 

Officer Randy Davis was driving westbound on the 8700 block of Town & Country Blvd. at about 3:50 p.m. to help another officer who with a suicidal subject, according to a statement released by police.

Davis was in a marked police car with lights flashing and siren on, according to police, when a 1996 Honda Accord trying to turn left onto Town & Country struck his vehicle.

An ambulance took Davis, a 12-year-veteran of the Howard County Police Department, to Howard County General Hospital where he was treated for minor issues, according to police. 

Police say the Honda’s driver, Doris Esperanza Lopez Arita, 38, of Ellicott City, was not hurt but was cited for driving without a license. The collision is still under investigation.
