No Parking in Preparation for Midnight Madness

Parking will be restricted in the Historic District as crews prepare for the Madness.

Midnight Madness is coming.

And in preparation, the Howard County Bureau of Highways will be sprucing up the streets and parking areas in the Historic District later this week.

There will be no parking on Thursday, Dec. 6 from 4 a.m. - 10 a.m. on Main Street from Ellicott Mills Drive to the Howard/Baltimore County line  and on Maryland Avenue as crews clean the streets in preparation for the annual holiday event, held Friday Dec. 7.

The parking restriction will be lifted after 10 a.m. Friday. Parking is free on Historic District streets and in parking lots until Jan. 1. New parking meters on Main Street and Maryland Avenue - as well as new fees at some existing meters, go into effect after New Years.

For Midnight Madness, people are encouraged to park in one of the county's parking lots (see attached map), including the Circuit Court parking lot.
