Memorial Garden for Victims of Train Derailment

A makeshift memorial is growing into something more permanent.

A Main Street memorial dedicated to the two victims of Tuesday morning's will grow its roots in Ellicott City.

Elizabeth Conway Nass and Rose Mayr, both 19, of Ellicott City, died in the incident after they were , Howard County Police Spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said Tuesday.

Tuesday night, hundreds of people gathered in the parking lot of the girls' alma mater, , for an impromptu vigil.

A note appeared on the memorial letting people know that flowers will be planted along the Tiber River as a lasting memorial to Mayr and Nass.
