Martin Luther King Day in Ellicott City Today

Head into the day a little more informed.

Have the day off? It might be a good day to stay home with some tomato soup. It’s going to be cloudy and chilly with a high temperature near 38 degrees. We may see some rain and sleet late tonight, but temperatures should remain fairly stable with a low of 35 degrees.

Today is Martin Luther King Day, a federal holiday. If you're lucky enough to have the day off and looking to run some errands, to see what county offices are open and which are closed. Trash and recycling pickup schedules are normal.

Members of the National Guard or Reserves who feel that their employers went above and beyond when it came to supporting them as they fulfilled their duties can nominate their employers for the Freedom Award. This is the highest award given to civilian employers. The deadline is today. Nominations can be submitted online
