History at the Bottom of the Patapsco: Ellicott City Today

Cloud cover and temperatures are expected to increase today, with a high temperature near 50 degrees. Clouds will gradually clear overnight when temperatures drop to about 29 degrees.

And ... On this day in 1897 history was made in the Patapsco River. The Argonaut was the first U.S. submarine with an internal combustion engine. Built for Simon Lake, the submarine had wheels and a divers' lock chamber. In all, the Argonaut sailed 2,000 miles.
