Fundraiser for Ellicott City Native Injured in Marathon Bombing

Erika Brannock had part of her leg amputated, according to a friend, and needs financial support for the long road ahead.

Friends have organized a fundraiser for the Ellicott City native who was critically injured in the Boston Marathon bombings.

Erika Brannock, a 29-year-old preschool teacher in Towson, was in Boston watching her mother run the marathon, when she was injured by one of the bombs that exploded near the finish line, according to a friend, Ashley Cook

“To alleviate some much of the financial stress and heartache that is to come, a fund has been set up in her name,” Cook said in a statement. A fundraising event has been scheduled to raise awareness of the Erika Brannock Fund on Saturday, May 4, at Mother's Federal Hill Grille, 1113 S Charles Street in Baltimore.
