Believe it or not, it might rain today. The National Weather Service is forecasting a 40 percent chance of showers and maybe thunderstorms late this afternoon. Otherwise it should be partly sunny with temperatures reaching about 75 degrees. Tonight expect partly cloudy skies with a low around 55 degrees.

Happy New Year! Rosh Hashanah, a Jewish New Year celebration, began last night. Howard County Schools and school offices are closed for the holiday.
