Ellicott City Today: December 20

Head into the day a little more informed.

There's a chance of ... snow! But don't hold your breath, it's a small chance, just about 30 percent according to the National Weather Service. And temperatures should peak at about 46 degrees, so if there is any snow, there likely won't be any accumulation. Tonight temperatures drop just a few degrees to about 41 with a slight chance of rain and snow. 

If you see fire or smell smoke on College Ave. -- again -- don't worry. Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services are finishing up the second day of experiments and training at a controlled burn on the campus. . Today, they'll burn the house down, starting at around 10 a.m.

Santa will be making his way up Route 40 today, making stops at Greenway, Valley Meade, Cypressmeade Park, Michaels Way and Joey Drive (all major roads between Route 40 & St. Johns) according to the Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department
