Earthquakes and hurricanes have subsided and left behind beautiful weather. The National Weather Service forecasts a high temperature of 78 degrees today with mostly sunny skies. Tonight temperatures will drop to the mid-50s.

Today was supposed to be the first day of school for students in the Howard County Public School system. as of yesterday evening, so the first day of school has been postponed.

Not all of the roads have been reopened after the weekend's hurricane. For information about road closures that might affect your commute, try the state's new 511 system: 1-855-466-3511 or online at MD511.org. Residents can also call MEMA at 877-636-2872 for road closure information.
