Ellicott City Today: August 1

Road closures and more.

There is an end in sight to this heat, but not until the end of the week. Today, the National Weather Service is forecasting a high temperature of 97 degrees with a 30 percent chance of rain. Tonight temperatures should drop to about 69 degrees and we may see some rain then, too.

Beginning today, the eastbound side of Interstate 70 will be closed from 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. from Rogers Avenue to the Baltimore County line daily, except Saturdays until Aug. 26. Crews will be working on the bridge approaches.

Also on Interstate 70 eastbound, from Marriottsville Road to US Route 29, the left shoulder, right shoulder and two lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. - 5 p.m. daily except Saturdays until Aug. 26. Crews will be patching the roads.
