The Howard County Zoning Board said Wednesday that housing, stores and office space are all acceptable uses at the on Route 4o. The Baltimore Sun reports that several residents have already said they plan to appeal to the Howard County Circuit Court the Board's decision to approve Traditional Neighborhood Zoning.

Wretches and Jabberers, a film about perceptions of disability, intelligence and communication, opens in New York tomorrow. The 90-minute film was underwritten by the John P. Hussman Foundation, an Ellicott City organization that provides aid to people with significant disabilities.

Shane Mattingly, a graduate of Centennial High School and a college baseball pitcher, is the Washington College Shoreman of the Week. He pitched a two-hit shutout last week in the Shoreman's win over Muhlenberg.
