Construction Roundup

Patch is keeping an eye on construction projects around Ellicott City.

You can be prepared for delays and plan alternate routes if you know where and when construction projects are going on.

Here's a roundup of work that has begun or will begin this month:

  • An existing stormwater pond is being retrofitted to provide better downstream erosion protection. The work will help to better manage downstream discharges and the emergency spillway will be enlarged. Work on the Green Shade Court Pond is under way and, weather permitting, should be completed by early October.

  • Bethany Lane, between Woodstream Lane and the Interstate 70 Bridge, is set to be milled and resurfaced. The project is funded by the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Work will take place from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. Watch for flaggers who will be directing traffic as needed and keep an eye on message signs alerting drivers of delays. Work is expected to be completed later this week.

  • St. Johns Lane is getting a sidewalk on the southbound side between Ramblewood Road and U.S. Route 40. Work is expected to begin this week and last through late November. There will be flaggers on the streets to direct traffic and message signs advising drivers of the construction.
