Bike to Work in Howard County

Two-wheel it to work for health, the environment and fun.

If you’re not afraid of a little rain, throw on a poncho, grease up your spokes and ride your bike to the Columbia Mall for the fourth annual Howard County Bike to Work Day.

At 7 a.m., join the Bicycling Advocates of Howard County, Police Chief William McMahon and Howard County Health Officer Peter Beilenson to promote the health and environmental benefits of cycling to work instead of driving. Students can also participate in Bike to School Day, sponsored by various PTA groups.

The gathering comes in the midst of Bicycle Advocacy and Awareness Month in Howard County which is part of the county’s Clean Commute initiative.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Friday. On the bright side, that means there's a 50 percent chance it won't rain you'll have a beautiful ride to work.
