3 Things to Know about Ellicott City Today

Apparently a cold front is on its way, according to The National Weather Service, which is forecasting a high temperature of 92 degrees today with a 40 percent chance of rain after noon.

If you drive on Gorman Road for your commute, stay alert because the county just installed a new traffic light there to replace stop signs near the intersection of Gorman at Stephens Road/Stone Lake Drive. According to county officials, the project was required by the Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance; the Howard Hughes Corporation funded the changes to accommodate traffic resulting from its development called Emerson, which is slated to bring 1,200 homes to the area.
