A Humble Beginning--The History of GiftCardRescue.com

The struggles and triumphs of starting your own business. Local Ellicott City resident, Kwame Kuadey, and his story about starting GiftCardRescue.com.

There's not one business today that achieves success without struggle. Here is our story:

It all started with a man and a dream. Kwame Kuadey grew up in a small village in Ghana where he found few opportunities for success. He then moved to the United States in hopes of fulfilling his "American Dream." After attending college at John Hopkins, Kwame was recruited into a management training program and received a job with the Citi Group. While working full time, he started GiftCardRescue.com and ran it on the side. Due to the downward slope of the economy, Kwame's position was discontinued and his "American Dream" came to a halt. At the time, he had just started his new business and had a family with a newborn daughter to support. Kwame decided to take a chance and pursue his business dreams. With his wife's help, he began running GiftCardRescue.com out of his home.

In August of 2009, Kwame received an opportunity to appear on the popular ABC show, Shark Tank. This was just the good news he needed. Kwame now had an opportunity to pitch his business to "the sharks" in hope of an investment. His appearance on the show soon lead to an investment offer of $200,000 from Kevin O'Leary and Robert Herjavec. This was quite the compliment because these two investors had achieved great success in the online business world and had the background Kwame needed to grow his company.

Since then, GiftCardRescue.com has received national publicity from the show's press coverage. The company has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Smart Money, and NPR to name a few. Today, GiftCardRescue.com is one of the internet's most popular, safest, and fastest gift card exchange sites. The company buys gift cards from those who don't want them and sells them to those who would use them. Consumers can get up to 90% cash back for their unwanted gift cards and save up to 30% off the face value of gift cards from over 250 major retailers. Some of the sites most popular gift cards are Walmart, Target, Visa, Home Depot, Lowe's and McDonald's.

What makes GiftCardRescue.com different from other companies is that it's foundation was built from one man's dream. The struggles and triumphs that he experienced throughout this journey encouraged him even more. He didn't quit when times got tough, instead he worked even harder and persevered. Success did not come easy for Kwame Kuadey, but when he achieved it, it made all of his hard work that much more worth while. Today, GiftCardRescue.com only plans to grow their business to be the best it can possibly be. There is always room for improvement.

I will not use this company ever again. Yeah great success story but that gives them no reason to scam the American people. If you want good service and great deals use ecardexchange.com
