Four New Restaurants to Open at Turf Valley Towne Square

Well-known local restaurants like Facci Italian and Xitomate will be opening restaurants at Turf Valley in Ellicott City.

Ellicott City will have new dining options soon once construction on four new restaurants finishes at Turf Valley Towne Square.

The restaurants—Grille 620, Xitomate, Facci and Red Parrot—are all being built by area restaurateurs, who spoke with Patch Wednesday about their plans.

"They will be kind of a backbone to the shopping center," said Clark B. Aburn, of Greenberg Gibbons, Turf Valley's developer. "All four of them you can characterize as dining destinations."

Octavio Moreno, the manager of Xitomate in Columbia, said the Xitomate planned for Turf Valley will have the "same food, same quality of drinks and same menu" as the Columbia location. Xitomate is known for their fresh lime margaritas and traditional Mexican food.

Moreno said they're planning to open the Turf Valley location sometime in September.

Wendy Cheng, owner of Red Parrot Asian Bistro, which has locations in Hanover,  Baltimore, and Alrington, VA said the developers of Towne Square contacted her about leasing a space and she liked the area.

"We thought we would be a good addition to it," said Cheng, who lives in Howard County. She said they plan to open the restaurant in November.

Red Parrot features a menu that includes sushi, Chinese and Korean cuisine and curry dishes. Cheng said the Turf Valley location will be the same concept as the other Red Parrot restaurants.

Grille 620 is being built by the folks who operate River Hill Sports Grille in Clarksville, but will be a new concept for them.

"We are going to be contemporary American cuisine," said Pamela Garrido, the manager at River Hill Sports Grille. "We'll have a heavy focus on seafood and steak, but there will be a little bit of everything on the menu."

Garrido said they hope to open the restaurant in September.

The fourth restaurant will be Facci Italian Restaurant, which has a location in North Laurel that features wood-fired pizzas and Italian dishes such as eggplant paremesean, stuffed shells and cioppino.

A Facci employee said they hope to open the new Ellicott City location sometime near the end of August.

The Towne Center shopping center, located at 11075 Resort Road in Ellicott City, already has a Harris Teeter grocery store open, a new pet store called Valu Pets, a soon-to-open Tae Kwon Do studio and a Subway.

In addition, Mimi's Kabob is opening a fast casual Middle Eastern restaurant at the new development. Other stores such as Smyth Jewelers and Petite Cellars, a liquor and wine store, have signed leases to open in the center.
