Iconic Forest Diner Car to Be Restored

The diner car is in Virginia, but may be back.

The  and for a couple of months, the iconic diner car sat empty, in disrepair, as backhoes and trucks worked around it on a new development.

In late July, the developer who owned the car said the ." No one has taken him up on the offer.

The developer is having diner car restored in Virginia, according to Donald Reuwer of Waverly Real Estate. Waverly is developing the site of the former diner into a residential and commercial development.

Reuwer said he did not know what would happen after the restoration was complete, likely about six months from now, he said.

"We’re just going to restore it and see where it goes from that," Reuwer said Tuesday afternoon.
