(Updated) Record Crowd and $91,000 Raised at Evening in the Stacks Fundraiser

Money raised will go towards Howard County Public Library System educational programs.

A record 664 people attended the fundraiser, held Saturday at the new in Ellicott City, library officials said Monday.

The 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. event featured celebrity bartenders Dennis Lane, former Economic Development Authority CEO Dick Story, County Council President Mary Kay Sigaty and others. The Natty Beaux, and a host of other special guests attended.

Howard County Public Library System spokeswoman Christie Lassen said $91,000 was raised in the $125 per person fundraiser. Money raised will go towards the library’s educational programs, she said.
