Jazz (Under a Roof) Under the Stars

For more than a decade, the Glenelg High School Jazz Ensemble has presented its annual picnic/concert, Jazz Under the Stars.

On Sunday, May 22, 2011, hundreds of guests turned out for a catered BBQ picnic followed by an evening of Jazz. This year's guest artist was Deanna Bogart, the Maryland-based blues and boogie pianist/saxophonist. This year the event was held indoors at the Howard County Fairgrounds instead of "Under the Stars" because of the threat of thunderstorms.

The proceeds from this concert will go to the GHS Marching Unit, as well as helping to fund the Jazz Band's performing tour of several Jazz festivals in Europe this summer.
