Oella Community Garden Groundbreaking

At long last, the Oella area has a community garden. We are breaking ground this Saturday at 10:00 AM for a pilot plot in the nursery near the Molly Banneky house as part of the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park's Earth Day celebration. Come give us a hand and stay to participate in other events. We will be demonstrating how to use recycled newsprint to make seed pots and, there will be nature arts and crafts, guided hikes, a lecture on climate change and presentations about animals and the environment elsewhere in the park until 4:oo PM.
